Church Planting - A Garden

Today Martin and I met with the Director of Missions and a pastor of the Metro Peoria Association for the Illinois Baptist State Association. We met with them to discuss our current church plant, that is starting a church in Carthage, IL. We were seeking their support and guidance in the path God is leading. We were not disappointed. When our church is started, we will be a part of the Metro Peoria Association and have the support and prayers of that wonderful group of people!

This is the Biblical way churches should be started. If we look at Paul, he traveled to Cyprus, Antioch, Iconium, Lystra, Galatia, Ephesus, Corinth and many other places to start churches. He would build them up, train men to be leaders and move to the next place. These churches then supported him in his ministry. Both the church in Corinth and Ephesus are mentioned as supporting Paul as he spread the gospel of Christ.

Martin and I have been so blessed in our ministry and we are so grateful to God for the people and resources He has put in our paths. Our hope and prayer is to start churches that will then start other churches. It's like a garden in which the seeds are scattered by the wind or birds and more flowers grow. God has a definite plan for this area and we have God's heart for it.

We covet your prayers as we move forward in God's plan for us and Hancock County. Please join us.

Grace and peace.
